The Arthur Ross Awards originated in 1982 as a way to recognize and honor the categorical achievements of individuals who facilitate the preservation and the growth of classical design and tradition. 

The awards are hosted by the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA) and are chosen by a committee that includes members of the ICAA Board of Directors, Advisory Council, Fellows, and acclaimed industry professionals.

The Philip Trammell Shutze Awards are named for the Atlanta architect whose work is revered internationally as one of the 20th Century’s most devoted classicists and the first ICAA Arthur Ross Award recipient. An Awards celebration dinner is held each year in the Shutze designed ballroom of the iconic Piedmont Driving Club in Atlanta, Georgia.
